Farewell Ratatouille

I was doin’ my daily chores of feeding Sandy and Ratatouille today when I discovered that Ratatouille had passed. ๐Ÿ™ Sandy and Ratatouille are our first pets that we ever had. Pet rats were not my first choice of pets. I was looking online for information on hamsters and discovered that pet rats make much better pets than hamsters do. Rats are typically not skittish where as hamsters are and rats love the attention. Daphne and I were not to sure about having rats as pets, but not long after we were sure we made the right decision. We all quickly began to adore the little rodents. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Kailen and I are both allergic to animals and we figured that such a small pet would not affect us, but we were wrong. ๐Ÿ™ So they are both our first and last pets! ๐Ÿ™ Ratatouille was named and belonged to Kailen, while Sandy was named and belongs to me. Kailen took Ratatouille’s passing surprisingly well… I was surprised as he was very attached to Ratatouille… we all were! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Ratatouille was the smartest of the two. No matter where you put her down on the floor, she could find and jump back into her cage. Pet rats have a typical life span of 2 – 2.5 years… We had Ratatouille for almost 2 years.

Here’s Rataouille almost 1 year ago from today. These photos were taken in a set of photos for our 2009 Christmas cards. Ratatouille will be missed.
