About Me
Hi, I’m Clifton Saulnier—a wedding photographer based in West Pubnico, Nova Scotia. I’ve been photographing weddings for over 14 years, but my love for art and storytelling started much earlier, back in school, where I learned composition through painting.
I approach weddings with a relaxed, photojournalistic style—offering just enough direction when needed, and then stepping back to let the real, meaningful moments unfold. As an introvert, I quietly take it all in, noticing the little things that often go unseen—but matter the most.
Outside of photography, I combine my love of images with a passion for programming. That mix led me to create LrSuperKeys—a Lightroom tool now used by photographers around the world to help make editing faster and more fun.
When I’m not behind the camera or writing code, you’ll usually find me playing hockey, working in the garden, strumming the guitar—or enjoying a really great cup of coffee. I live in West Pubnico with my wife Daphne, our son Kailen, his girlfriend Sydnee, and our mini labradoodle, Paisley.
I believe in staying present, taking things lightly, and paying attention to the moments that matter. That’s the energy I bring into every wedding I photograph—and what I hope comes through in every image.
- I’ve photographed weddings for over 14 years—but my creative journey started with painting in high school.
- I’m an introvert, which helps me quietly notice and capture the small, meaningful moments.
- I play guitar—mostly for myself, sometimes for the dog.
- When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me playing hockey or out in the garden.
- My first time flying was in 2010—to New Jersey, for a two-and-a-half-day photography bootcamp led by Cliff Mautner (named one of the world’s top 10 wedding photographers).
- Music keeps me going—country in the summer, and 90s/2000s R&B or Top 40 the rest of the year.
- I enjoy a great quality cup of coffee—and don’t mind going the extra mile to find one.
- I live with my wife Daphne, our son Kailen, his girlfriend Sydnee, and our mini labradoodle, Paisley.
- My motto: Take time to enjoy and observe every moment. And don’t take things too seriously.
- I value people who are genuine, kind, and willing to help others—and try to live that way, too.
